Chris Heinrichs was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but he made it to Texas as fast as he could (age 4), considering he had to depend on his parents to drive.
He founded the firm after partnering for years in two other prominent San Antonio firms.
Gina De Gennaro
Gina De Gennaro, President of Heinrichs and De Gennaro, P.C., received her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Magna Cum Laude, from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles in 1982, where she completed the honors program and was a member of Alpha Sigma Nu, the national Jesuit Honor Society. She earned her law degree from University of Southern California, Gould School of Law, in Los Angeles in 1985. During her last year in law school she served as an editor of the tax-planning journal.
Mary Ella McBrearty
Mary Ella McBrearty, Vice President of Heinrichs & De Gennaro, P.C., is a San Antonio native. She attended Ursuline Academy, then the University of Texas in Austin, graduating with highest honors and her Bachelor of Science in Speech. She then obtained her Master's in Speech Pathology from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, before attending the University of Texas Law School. In 1980 she received her Juris Doctor with highest honors from UT, where she was on the Texas Law Review and a member of two exclusive honor societies, the Order of the Coif and Chancellors.
J. Barrett Shipp
J. Barrett Shipp is a shareholder at Heinrichs & De Gennaro, P.C. His practice is directed at probate administration as well as probate, guardianship, trust, and fiduciary litigation. He represents clients in probate administration, heirship determinations, will contests, trust disputes, actions by and against executors, administrators, and trustees, and on behalf of estate and trust beneficiaries, and in power-of-attorney litigation, declaratory judgment, creditor, trust modification and termination actions.
Maurine “Mo” Heinrichs Shipp
Maurine "Mo" Heinrichs Shipp, Vice President of Heinrichs & De Gennaro, P.C., was born and reared in San Antonio, Texas, and comes from a long line of ranchers and lawyers. She received her Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Missouri at Columbia in 2002. Mo worked in advertising and public relations before attending St. Mary's University School of Law, where she was active in a number of organizations, earned a spot in Phi Delta Phi Honorary Legal Fraternity, and was a member of the Board of Advocates. She received her Juris Doctor from St. Mary's in 2008 and joined the firm in September of the same year.
Kimberly A. Ford
Kimberly received her Bachelor of Journalism with honors at the University of Texas at Austin in 2011. After graduation, she returned to her hometown to attend law school at St. Mary’s University. During her time at St. Mary’s, Kimberly served as a research assistant and teaching assistant. She was also Comment Editor for the St. Mary’s Law Journal. In 2014, Kimberly received her Juris Doctor from St. Mary's University. She joined the firm as an associate in September of 2014 focusing her practice in the areas of Wills, Estate Administration, Probate and Guardianships. She also serves as attorney ad litem in heirship proceedings.
